Project Description

A classic Thai Long-tail Boat in repose on the beach at Kamala in southern Thailand.  I took this first shot while recuperating from a life threatening illness that forced me to spend 10 days in a Thai hospital after self-evacuating from Tonsai while climbing there. I was really happy to be walking again and seasonal storms had driven most people from the beach when I took this image. The boat was marooned on the sand waiting for the tide to come in and float it away again to travel the seas – its natural medium. This whole scene sort of captured how I felt at that moment.
